How to use the App with a Misty II Robot

First, get the login credentials to your WiFi network. (Note that Misty II can be used either with an online Peerbots account or offline, but Misty II will only connect to the Peerbots app on a local area network connection.)

Download the free Misty App for your mobile device from either the Google Play Store for Android devices or the Apple App Store for iOS Devices.

(Although the Misty II Robot can be controlled from a Desktop Mac/Windows/Linux computer running Peerbots, the Misty II must first still be configured using a mobile Android or iOS device. For more information about the Misty II robot, go to the Misty Robotics official site.)

To initially configure the Misty II robot, open the Misty II app, and pair the Misty II to your mobile device. (Note that Bluetooth and internet permissions must be granted to the Misty App to be able to pair to a robot!)

Once the Misty Robot is paired to your mobile device, assign the WiFi credentials to the Misty Robot so that it is connected to the same local area network as your mobile device. Once the Misty II is connected to the local area network, note the listed IP Address.

Now, on the same mobile device (or whichever device you want to control the Misty II robot from), open up the Peerbots app, and either log in or use the app in offline mode. 

From here, select the Controller mode:

Now, in Controller mode, on the Call devices panel on the right side, enter the Misty II Robot's IP Address, prefaced with a "misty:" into the Email or web address field. (For example, if the Misty II Robot's IP address were "192.168.1.101", you would enter "misty:192.168.1.101".) 

When you have entered the address, click on the Call Device button to start controlling the Misty II robot from the Peerbots app!

If the connection was successful, you should now be able to control the Misty II Robot with Peerbots!

(Misty II has a set of motorized tracks that allows the Misty robot to drive around. You can control Misty II's drive tracks from the Peerbots app with the Misty Joystick sub window, which will automatically pop up when connected to a Misty Robot.)

Note: Peerbots has apps for Mac/Windows/Linux/Android/iOS. The iOS version of Peerbots is not able to correctly send speech commands to Misty II due to limitations specific to iOS speech generation architecture. If you need speech control on a Misty II robot using Peerbots, please use another platform.
